Besides cardamom (elaichi), some people also use rose water or kewda for fragrance. I have used here <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2SqlIyM\"><strong>Nestle Milkmaid<\/strong><\/a> condensed milk.&nbsp;For best results, I would recommend using <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuchpakrahahai.in\/making-paneer-or-cottage-cheese-at-home\/\">homemade fresh paneer<\/a> <\/strong> but if you are in hurry you can use store bought too.<\/p>\n<p>I learnt this recipe on my recent visit to my mom\u2019s place. To be honest, I am more into baking &amp; generally don\u2019t make Indian sweets much as they take longer cooking time &amp; ingredients like khoya (which are not easily available in market these days) but this recipe is a total game changer. More the moisture in the paneer, longer it will take Kalakand mixture to thicken up.<\/li>\n<li>You can also use Rose water or Kewda for additional aroma in Kalakand.<\/li>\n<li>In the ingredients list, the <strong>quantity of paneer<\/strong> is mentioned as \u2018<strong>300 to 350 grams<\/strong>\u2018. This is because the amount slightly varies depending on the moisture in paneer &amp; also on the thickness of condensed milk. For making homemade paneer follow this step. Take 2 litres of milk in a heavy bottomed pan &amp; bring it to boil <strong>(This will&nbsp;yield&nbsp;approximately&nbsp;300 grams of paneer)<\/strong>. Once the milk has come to boil, add 2-3 tsp lemon juice or vinegar gradually. Rinse the excess water from it by twisting the muslin cloth. We will use this paneer in making Kalakand. We will pour kalakand mixture on it to set finally &amp; this will prevent the pieces from sticking to the base. The crumbled paneer is easier to mix &amp; gives a nice grainy texture to Kalakand. Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a kadhai or pan &amp; add this crumbled paneer to it. Saut\u00e9 for 20-30 seconds only.
